How will wars and diplomacy regarding them work?

I'm curious as to how you'll implement how nations wage and resolve wars throughout the timeframe, especially how Great Wars would escalate and involve more nations as the war progresses along with shifting wargoals. Currently, most other games in this genre are extremely limited in playing these things out; I'm very interested in if you plan to remedy this, and if so, what do you have in mind?
There are wargoals you use to enforce peace on an enemy, and if the peace deal is satisfactory, the enemy may accept. This is still heavily in development by content designers, but Great Wars will certainly be vastly different in scale and scope, especially at the peace table.
The wargoal and casus belis system is highly scriptable and dynamic already, so the design has the capacity to fit the needs of the future in how we develop this.
